Not all scientists look like they just woke up on the floor...
This Halloween, Darkvale Laboratories opened its doors to the public, and a couple hundred unsuspecting locals were given a brief tour of our research and development facility. A few minor explosions took place, and a certain amount of running and profanity ensued, but overall, the evening was a great success. Halloween being what it is, our guests probably should have expected a startling moment or two - perhaps I shouldn't have lied to them about there being nothing to fear in the lab. To quote a great modern philosopher, "It takes two people to lie, one to lie, and one to listen to that lie."
At any rate, the evening's success relied heavily on our beautiful and patient lab assistant, who carefully screened the trick-or-treaters to minimize childhood trauma among the younger ones, while delivering maximum comedic scare setup to the youth who were old enough to know better. Many photos were taken, many friends and neighbors attended, and a good time was had by most. As we move forward with other Darkvale projects, we will be posting some additional footage and photos of the lab in a new gallery on our Galleries page in days ahead. Once again, special thanks to the talent and patience of Anna McWilliams for assisting in the lab and so many other Darkvale projects, and thanks to all who also take Halloween a little too far every year so that I don't look like a complete fruit bat.
To save you time on Google, the great modern philosopher cited earlier was Homer Simpson. Deeper truth was never spoken.
